District heating 4 + 1.3MW

District heating
4 + 1.3MW

Filipstads Värme supplies district heating to Filipstad. The district heating network is about 50GWh and the goal has been to convert away all fossil oil. The project was carried out in 2019 and refers to a new wood chip boiler 4MW with fuel input and flue gas cleaning 1.3MW.

The contract included soil, piling, construction, fuel handling, combustion equipment, hot water boiler, piping, electrical control installation, electrical filters and flue gas condensation.

The project was carried out as a turnkey ABA where AKJ, through the turnkey contract, managed and coordinated all construction and process related disciplines.

Implementation

Turnkey

Customer

Filipstad Energi AB

Construction

Wood chip boiler
Power: 4MW

Flue gas condenser
Power: 1.3MW

Purification
Electrostatic precipitator

Environmental requirements
<25mg/Nm3 dust
<240mg/Nm3 NOx

Optimized combustion

The combustion equipment is adapted for low-value moist sawmill fuels and was optimized to maximize annual efficiency, flue gas recovery and minimize emissions.

Now that the plant has been optimized, it exhibits low emissions and high efficiency.

District heating at the cutting edge

The goal has been to build a cost-effective, sustainable district heating plant that shows that Filipstads värme is at the absolute forefront of district heating and sustainable development.

"The incinerator is constructed by AKJ and has a very high quality masonry"
