This week, Moelven'snew pellet factory was inaugurated. AKJ Energiteknik has built the new energy center for the pellet factory, it is the second plant we have built at Moelven Valåsen. The boiler was commissioned before the summer. The project has been carried out during full production at the sawmill with a high focus on logistics, safty (zero accidents) ahead of schedule and within budget. >Performance 12MW with good emission values.

AKJ Energiteknik was the turnkey contractor for the new energy center, which included ground and foundation work, concrete and construction work for a new boiler house, fuel conveyors, incinerator, boiler, flue gas treatment with electric filters, mechanical, control and electrical installations and heat distribution systems for a total of 40MW.

The combustion equipment is designed with AKJ's moving grate combustion system for moist sawmill fuels and has been optimized to maximize operational availability and minimize emissions.

Moelven is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of sawn timber. Moelven Vänerply is located in Otterbäcken, four miles north of Mariestad, and manufactures plywood from spruce and pine. Each year, about 90,000 m3 or about 6 million m2 of plywood is produced. The plywood is manufactured by heating debarked logs through basing and then turning them into veneer, which is then dried. The drying process is energy-intensive and the residues from production in the form of bark, shavings and chips are used as fuel.

The bef energy center was built in 1969 and will now be replaced with a new modern steam plant. The contract includes earthworks and foundations, concrete and construction works for a new boiler house and fuel storage, fuel conveyors, incinerator, boiler, flue gas cleaning with electric filter, mechanical and electrical installations, control system, back-up boiler, and new steam and feedwater system.

The steam boiler is performed as a water tube boiler with subsequent economizer. The combustion equipment is carried out with AKJ's variable grate combustion system for moist sawmill fuels and is optimized to maximize operational availability and minimize emissions.

Right now, preparatory work, design and procurement are underway, we at AKJ thank Moelven for this large order and look forward to continued good cooperation.

Progress according timeplan. Main equipment, piping works and accumulator mounted, Electrical works ongoing and the Comissioning will start after the summer. AKJ Energiteknik is building a new biomass boiler plant that will decarbonize Arla's dairy facility in Falkenberg from fossil-based to renewable sources and enabeling continued growth of fossil-free district heating in Falkenberg.

Falkenberg Energi, which produces approximately 70 GWh annually, will own and operate the new boiler plant. Arla, the world's largest producer of organic milk products, operates Europe's largest cottage cheese dairy in Falkenberg. This facility produces Keso and protein products, with total production equivalent to about 100 million kg of milk per year.

The new boiler installation is being designed with an exterior architectural appearance in corten color, featuring parts in expanded metal and special lighting. The entire facility is being constructed for fully automated, unmanned operation with fuel handling, where woodchip trucks will enter the facility and tip their loads with closed doors.

The plant is designed for high operational availability and environmental performance and is being prepared for electricity generation with an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbine and flue gas condensation. The combustion equipment is primarily adapted for burning local forest fuels such as logging residues and is equipped with AKJ's advanced combustion and control systems in combination with SNCR (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction) NOx reduction equipment.

The district heating network is mainly supplied with wood chips today, but the demand for district heating is increasing and now they are investing in a new boiler plant from AKJ Energiteknik that will replace oil boilers.

The combustion equipment is carried out with AKJ's advanced combustion system with a variable grate system for dry biofuels and is optimized to maximize operational availability and control area.

The contract includes the design, manufacture, assembly and commissioning of two redundant boiler lines in the form of prefabricated boiler centers, fuel handling, pellet boilers, flue gas cleaning with electrostatic precipitators, mechanical, piping and electrical installations and control systems.
